This is a basketball hoop that will be around for years. Rugged All-Weather Construction This 54” in-ground basketball system is designed to go in the ground and never come out unless you want it to. The pole comes in 3 sections and is made of steel that’s been treated with a weather-resistant powder coating to protect against rust and corrosion. The steel-framed backboard is made of Makrolon which is a shatterproof polycarbonate material. The backboard is also treated with a UV-protected ink that prevents fading and cracking due to exposure to the elements. The pole can be permanently mounted directly in the ground or in a Lifetime ground sleeve that allows it to be relocated if necessary. Power Lift Height Adjustment System Adjusting the height of a backboard can be a hassle, but, thanks to Lifetime’s pneumatic Power Lift height adjustment system, it’s a breeze for anyone to make height adjustments safely and easily. All you have to do is squeeze the handle and you can raise or lower the height of the backboard in 6-inch increments between 8 and 10 feet.
